Tommie LaNell Phillips was born on August 27, 1942 to Thomas and Nellie Dee Wims in Nashville, TN. She was the oldest of five children which her parents adored. She never met a stranger. She loved her family fiercely. Her kindness and caring extended beyond relatives to hosts of church patrons and close friends she cared for and in turn loved her. She was a very charitable person and was always looking to assist others in need. She was small in stature, but her will was giant and strong. She had a wicked sense of humor and loved to laugh. She cherished gardening and sharing the beauty and bounty of flowers with others. She is preceeded in death by her parents and her sister Marilyn. She is survived by her husband Eddie, daughters Melissa Donahue (Ed) and Marilyn Markel (Jim), grandchildren James Donahue and Casey StJohn, brother Terry Wims and sisters Jann Hines and Cathey Shelton as well as scores of nieces and nephews that loved her dearly. A memorial service will be scheduled in the spring.
