Tommy A. Vort, Jr.

Mr. Tommy A. Vort, Jr., age 61 of Lawrenceville, passed away on Friday, January 7, 2011. Tommy was a member of the Greek Cathedral of the Annunciation, where he enjoyed working and helping out. He was the 2nd Vice President of the Gwinnett Citizen Fire Academy Alumni Association, where he logged 166 volunteer hours for 2010. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Vort; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Betty Maddox and three grandchildren, Anna, 16, Daniel, 15 and Joshua, 12, all of Carrollton, GA; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Evelyn Bagley of Chatsworth and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 14, 2001 at the Greek Cathedral of the Annunciation. Burial will follow at Gwinnett Memorial Park A.S. Turner and Sons, Decatur.
