Vera Mae Hudgins

September 5, 1927 — February 15, 2020

Vera J. Hudgins (Johnnie), of Conyers GA died Saturday February 15th, 2020. She was born September 5, 1927 and grew up in Lithonia Ga. She retired after 20 years from Scottish Rite Hospital in Decatur working for Dr. J.H. Kite an orthopedist in Atlanta; she then worked in the office at Sharian Rugs in Decatur for 16 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Robert (Bobby) Hudgins; sons, Eddie and Steve Hudgins; parents, Cicero and Georgia Mae Johnston of Lithonia; sister, Vivian J and James A. Reagin of Conyers.

She is survived by her grandson, Robbie Manfredi and his wife, Sylvia; great-grandchildren, Max & Vickie of Lilburn; niece, Dana L. and her husband, John D. Wages of Conyers; great niece, Jessica and Seth Sharp of McDonough, Rory A and Jason B Sharp; great nephew, James Timothy Wages of North Carolina. Special thanks to Mrs. Beverly Jackson and all of her nurses and staff at Remington/The Retreat at Conyers.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday February 22nd at 12:30 pm at Decatur Cemetery, The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 12 noon prior to the services at A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home & Crematory, Decatur GA
