Veronica Kane

Veronica E. (“Beckie”) Kane died on Sunday, October 26, 2008, at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Born on November 29, 1911, she married the love of her life, John M. Kane, in 1935. Mr. Kane died in December 1980. Mrs. Kane lived in many places over the years, including Clairmont Place in Decatur, GA where she lived until she moved in with her daughter, Beverly Schaffer, in 2006. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother by her daughters, Beverly and Barbara, and by her granddaughter, Christine Hodgson. They and her son-in-law, Thomas Hodgson, along with Edmund Makoski, MD, and her many friends will remember her as a truly lovely lady and one of the nicest people who ever lived. Besides her husband, two brothers, four sisters and her parents predeceased her.

 

A service will be held in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons  Funeral Home at 2773 North Decatur Road, Decatur, GA at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 2, 2008,  with visitation following. A private entombment will be at Arlington Cemetery in Atlanta on Monday.
