Virginia DeLois Jenkins Adán passed away on June 17, 2014, surrounded by her family. DeLois, as she was known, was born September 18, 1933 in Gloucester, Virginia, the daughter of Herman L. Jenkins, Sr. and Virginia Ray Marshall Jenkins. DeLois was part of the first class to graduate from Mary Immaculate Hospital Nursing School in Newport News, Virginia, in 1954, and later furthered her training to become a nurse anesthetist. DeLois was married to Dr. Anibal Adán on September 17, 1960, in Gloucester, Virginia at St. Therese Church of the Little Flower. She was a wonderful homemaker who loved her family, cooking, and holiday gatherings, and was a loving Christian woman. DeLois was preceded in death by her parents, and sister Catherine M. Harvey and brother Herman L. Jenkins, Jr., and is survived by her husband of 53 years, Anibal Adán, and daughter Angela Maria Adán Farnham and her husband Davis Boyt Farnham of Oak Park, Illinois, sons Victor Adán and his wife Denise Evelyn Adán of Franklin, North Carolina, and Michael Adán and his wife Natalie Marie Adán of Stone Mountain, Georgia, grandchildren Olivia Maria Farnham, Grace Adán Farnham, Lilly Marie Adán, Ava Violet Adán, Elias Noah Adán, and Eliana Esther Adán, sisters Anne Pruitt of Carrollton, Virginia, and Louise Heywood, of Hayes, Virginia, and brother Reuben L. Jenkins, of Hayes, Virginia. DeLois is loved and will be missed.
