Virginia Eddleman Dailey

October 15, 1914 — May 3, 2009

Mrs. Virginia Eddleman Dailey, age 94, died Sunday, May 3, 2009. She grew up in Albany, Georgia.  While serving as a deputy sheriff in DeKalb County, she married former DeKalb County Chief of Police, J.T. "Jake" Dailey.  She was an active member of the 1st Presbyterian Church and community of Cuthbert, Georgia, for over 30 years before returning to the Atlanta area.  She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Terry and David Blackshear of Molena, Georgia; two grandchildren, Jake and Kristen Blackshear of Nashville, Tennessee, and Elyse and Micah McCool of Molena, Georgia; and two great grandsons, Nile McCool and Darren Blackshear.  Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, May 6, at 12 noon at Decatur Cemetery.  The family requests memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association, c/o Governors Glenn Assisted Living for Alzheimer residents, 5000 Governors Drive, Forest Park, GA 30297. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11:30 am Wednesday morning at A. S. Turner & Sons.
