Virginia M. O'Neal, of Atlanta, passed away April 27, 2013. She was preceded in death by her dear husband, Charles B. O'Neal. She is survived by her son, David O'Neal M.D. and his wife, Patricia, of Birmingham AL; daughter, C.A.F. Colonel Peggy O'Neal of Atlanta; grandchildren, Victoria, Daniel and Christopher; brother, Charles Bud McKibben; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Virginia was a beautiful woman with a kind and generous spirit who touched many lives. She enjoyed her grandchildren, family and friends. She was an avid tennis player and instructor, loved dancing, gardening and Bible study. She was also an accomplished artist in oil painting and sculpture, and a calligrapher for the Coca-Cola Company. An active charter member of Briarcliff United Methodist Church, she designed the beautiful stained glass window of a cross in the sanctuary. We will all miss her loving and supportive presence in our lives. We loved her very much. Funeral and interment will be in Mattoon, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Briarcliff United Methodist Church, 4105 Briarcliff Rd. NE, Atlanta, GA 30345. The visitation will be Monday from 6 to 8 pm at A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
