Von Allen Hines

Von A. Hines was a true hero. He served in the military serving his country as a Sergeant in the Marines. He was a faithful loving husband to Augustine Hines and a father to Robert Hines, Lesha Derrick-Cruse, Sharon Hines, Katrina Hines and too many other children to mention that he took a part in raising. His home was open to many people and he was always a giving man that would give you the shirt off his back if needed. This man worked 3 jobs at times to support his family. When he became ill with Leukemia and suffered a loss of limbs and fingers. He never gave up. Being a diesel mechanic for Ryder for many years, he loved working on vehicles. He spent the last couple of years at the Eagles Nest Nursing Home where he enjoyed bingo and working in the garden. He was very proud of his melons. Nothing stopped him from living life. He is and always will be one of the strongest men we could ever have known. It is now time for us to let him go. His wife is waiting with open arms and he is once again reunited with the love of his life.
