Walter Matthew Mcdonald

Walter Matthew (Mickey) McDonald, 87, passed away at home with family after a brief illness on Monday Feb. 15, 2016. Mickey was an outgoing person who enjoyed a good laugh. Mickey led a full life and served in the US Air Force, taught Sunday School, coached baseball and was a passionate advocate and volunteer for the Woman's Day Shelter now under Atlanta Mission. He also loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Betty McDonald. Mickey is also survived by his four children and spouses, son, Mark McDonald and wife, Christy McDonald; daughter in law, Anna Coleman and husband, Tony Coleman; son, Scott McDonald and wife, Lynn McDonald; daughter, Donna Porter and husband, Ken Porter; son, Phillip McDonald and wife, Anna McDonald. His grandchildren are Laura, Matthew, Scotty, MaryKate, Emily, Kaitlyn, Tiffany, Kristin, Mac, Brooke, Nathan, Ashley, Sam, Cole, Rachel, Gavin and Abigail. Visitation will be on Friday, Feb 19, 2016 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Atlanta Mission. Turner & Sons. Family and friends can gather at 11:00 am.
