Walter Ray Brown
Husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, Bulldog fan, lover of the Braves, and world class gardener. Exceptional man with the driest wit and sweetest, slyest smile ever. He will be greatly missed and yet memories and stories will keep him with us forever.

Ray was a member of Jackson Hill Baptist Church and then Briarlake Baptist Church for many years where he served faithfully in various capacities. He worked for the John H. Harland Company for 30 years, and after retirement from there, worked for Peachtree Printers for 5 years. He positively adored his family, especially his beloved wife. He was kind and gentle, but not beyond playing a practical joke. He kept everyone laughing.

Ray was the son of the late Winnie Mae Jones Brown and Walt Brown. He is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Jerry Brown; daughter Robin Brown and her wife Lisa Block; daughter Suzanne Brown McFadden and her husband Bruce, granddaughter Lauren McFadden and grandson Blake McFadden; sister Elizabeth Wheeler, brother Robert Brown and his wife Ann, brother-in-law Baxter Dollar and his wife Jean, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by brothers Elgin Brown and Hendon Brown, and sisters Marguerite Brown Starr and Jean Brown Ayers.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 5 at 11:00, with a Celebration of Life at 12:00 at A. S. Turner and Sons, 2773 North Decatur Road, Decatur 30033. He will be laid to rest at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Tucker, GA.
