Watson Eugene (Gene) Wilson

September 12, 1924 — June 17, 2005

Watson Eugene (Gene) Wilson, Sr., 77, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away on June 17, 2005.  Mr. Wilson was born on September 12, 1927 in Columbus, Georgia, son of the late Ida Cook Wilson and John Olin Wilson.  He graduated in 1950 from Auburn University. He worked for Aramco Oil Co. in Saudi Arabia before joining Lockheed in Marietta, Georgia in Labor Relations until his retirement in 1985.  He was a distinguished member of The First Families of Georgia, The First Families of Virginia, Sons of the American Revolution, and The Founders and Patriots of America among other genealogical societies.  Mr. Wilson was a member of Briarlake Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia.  He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Jean Buck Wilson; two sons and their spouses, Watson Eugene Wilson, Jr. and Tish Kletcke Wilson of Marietta, Georgia and Stephen Keith Wilson and Catherine Langille Wilson of Alpharetta, Georgia; three grandchildren, Robert Faulkner Wilson, Geoffrey Walker Wilson and Elizabeth Marie Wilson; and a sister, Lonita Wilson Davis of Sea Island, Georgia.  Visitation will be held at A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home in Decatur, Georgia on Monday, June 20 from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM.  Graveside Services will be held at Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus, Georgia on Tuesday, June 21 at 11:00 AM.  Arrangements by A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home, 2773 North Decatur Road, Decatur, Georgia 404-292-1551.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Heart Association.
