Mr. Wayne "Burkey" Bramble, 69, of Atlanta, died Monday, May 12, 2008. He was born in Maryland but grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina. He played football for E. Mecklenburg High School and graduated in 1957. Following graduation, Mr. Bramble served his country in the U. S. Marine Corps and was Honorably Discharged in 1963. He moved to Atlanta in 1965 and worked as Branch Manager for Public Finance Co. and then Commercial Credit Corp. He then became co-owner of B& W Electric Supply Co. in Decatur. After he retired, Wayne went to work for Blue Ribbon Grill near Northlake Mall, where he entertained many patrons and friends with his infectious smile and pleasant demeanor. He loved to shag dance, entertain friends, listen to bagpipe music, and study Scottish traditions by attending various Highland Games. Mr. Bramble is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Buzzy and Susan Bramble of Isle of Palms SC, Todd and Cindy Bramble of Tuscaloosa AL; his grandchildren, Brett, Brittany, Brandon, Cameron, Haley, Cole and Morgan; and his great grandchildren, Ayrk and Asher. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons at 4 pm., Saturday, May 17th. For those who desire, a contribution in memory of Wayne Bramble may be sent to the John A. MacDougal Scholarship Fund, P O Box 10, Isle of Palms SC 29451. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 Saturday afternoon prior to the service at A. S. Turner & Sons.
