Willard Garrett

Willard Garrett, Jr.,69 of Atlanta, died May 26, 2013, at his home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 11:00 am from the chapel of A.S. Turner and Sons with Rev. Jimmy Slick officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00 pm in Salem Missionary Baptist Church #2 Churchyard in Mineral Bluff, GA. Friends will be received on Friday May 31, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Mr Garrett was born June 14, 1943 in Murphy North Carolina to Willard and Margie Garrett. Willard Garrett Jr. served the Atlanta area for more than 40 years as an auto mechanic, serving the citizens of his home area with pride and compassion. Junior was the type of self-denying person that all should strive to be. In his free time, you could find Junior on the water or standing on the bank fishing. He loved nothing more than to be with his children or a dear friend at the lake fishing and enjoying the simple things. He had a passion for classic American sports cars and often would spend time working on his 1976 Firebird or his 1973 Lemans coupe. He is survived by his Mother Margie Garrett of Atlanta, GA; Son and Daughter-in-law Randy and Christine Garrett of Pampa, TX; Daughter and Son-in-law Teresa and Chris Vainrib of Pearland, TX; Sister and Brother-in-law Annie Ruth and Frank Walker; Granddaughters Jessica Garrett, Abigail Vainrib, and Chloe Vainrib.
