Willard Neville Tatum

April 27, 1940 — May 25, 2021

Willard Neville Tatum of Stone Mountain, Georgia went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, May 25, 2021. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be greatly missed. Neville epitomized I John 3:18 NLT which says “...let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.” Neville showed his love for his wife, family and friends in both word and deed daily.

Born in Louisville, Kentucky he moved to Atlanta with his family as a young boy. He started “tinkering” with cars at the early age of 13 which sparked his life-long career as an auto-mechanic. Neville worked for Callaway Motors in Decatur, Royal Oldsmobile in Stone Mountain, Capital Cadillac in Marietta, Skillen’s Automotive in both Decatur and Snellville, and Moore Automotive in Snellville.

Neville also had an interest in the pedal steel guitar which he played with various groups, including the Glen Haven Baptist choir. He enjoyed playing and listening to bluegrass music. Neville’s other hobbies included photography & videography. Neville was a long-time member of Glen Haven Baptist Church in Decatur/Stockbridge.

Neville is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirley Tatum; his three children, Micheal Tatum, Bryan Tatum, and Sandy Tatum Campbell; his son-in-law Ryan Campbell; and his three grandchildren Zachary Tatum, Emily Tatum, and Abigail Tatum.
