Willard Russell Via Jr., 78, of Decatur, GA died Friday, October 21, 2016. Born in Eufaula, AL in 1938, he grew up in Dothan, AL, where he graduated from Dothan High School in 1956. He is a graduate of Auburn University and John Marshall School of Law. Until his retirement, he served as an administrative law judge with the Georgia Department of Transportation in Atlanta.
Predeceased by his parents, Tade McRae Via and Willard Russell Via of Dothan and his brother, Charles McRae (Mac) Via of Montgomery, AL, he is survived by his sons, Willard Russell Via III (Kimberly) of Atlanta; Charles Anthony Via of Phoenix, AR and John Thomas Via of Decatur; sister, Elizabeth Via Brown (Phillip) of Montgomery. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Terri Kelley Via of Montgomery; nieces Wendy Via, Kelley Via and Missy Via of Montgomery and nephew, Hunter M. Brown (Whitney Whetstone) of Los Angeles, CA and five great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to the Dothan High School Class of 1956, c/o Odus W. Francis, 12 Fox Creek Dr., North Augusta, SC 29860.
