William B. Scott, Jr. of Decatur died Sunday afternoon, November 20,2005. Mr. Scott was a native of Savannah, GA and was a member of Decatur First United Methodist Church. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 1941. He joined Southern Bell Telephone Company that same year and retired as Treasurer of the company in 1982. Mr. Scott was a very talented musician and shared his talents, providing entertainment for residents of hospitals, churches and nursing homes in the Decatur area for many years. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty Peters Scott; daughters, Mrs. Barbara Parks Thompson of Conyers, GA, Mrs. Betty Ann Hugelmaier of Inlet, N. Y.; three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at Decatur First United Methodist Church at 2:00 pm, Friday, November 25 with visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, in the Gathering Room at the Church. Ministers will be Bishop L. Bevel Jones, The Rev. Dr. Bill McKoy and the Rev. Dr. David Naglee. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Decatur Disaster Relief Fund, First United Methodist Church, 300 E. Ponce de Leon Ave., Decatur, GA 30030, or to your favorite charity. A. S.
