Bill was born in Sylacauga, Alabama and moved to Atlanta, working at several places before retiring from Ford Motor Co. in Hapeville. He attended and ministered at Cameron Christian church.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda, daughter, Rebecca Jones, sister, Lois Mayo, brother, Charles Simpson, and his family, granddaughter, Emily Medina, her children, uncle, Doyle Staten, his family, Eugene Whitworth and family, several great nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews, and other extended family, friends and neighbors.
He loved cowboy movies, wrestling and woodworking, and enjoy being outdoors, often mowing yards for the neighbors. Bill was loved and will be missed but we know that he is at peace with the Lord more rest and peace that he could have ever imagined.
Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.
