William (Bill) Lansdell died on June 8 in Northeast Atlanta Health and Rehabilitation Center, also under the care of Hospice, following a series of illnesses. He was the only son of the late Fredrick and Atwood Lansdell, and was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Ora Lee Lansdell and granddaughter, Julie Annette Adams. Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter and son-in-law, Bert and Barbara Adams of Roswell, GA; and son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Pam Lansdell of Decatur, AL; grandchildren, Mark and Sophie Adams, Tom and Sharilynn Lansdell, John and Michelle Lansdell; and two great grandsons, both named after him, William Spiro Adams and Michael William Lansdell. Bill was co-owner of Workmaster, Inc., a 56 year member of the Masonic Lodge and member of the Atlanta Men?s Garden Club. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Decatur and current member of Briarcliff Baptist Church. Bill was previously active in the Boy Scouts, whom he entertained regularly at his home at Jackson Lake. A long time resident of Decatur, GA, he and Ora Lee resided in Leafmore Hills before moving to Kingsbridge Retirement Home in 1997, where he currently resided. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice or the charity of your choice. A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 11th at 10:00 A.M. at Floral Hills Memory Gardens with Rev. Greg Smith, Minister of Music at Northeast Baptist Church and the Chaplain for Kingsbridge Retirement Center presiding. A. S. Turner & Sons
