William (Bill) Prescott Price, Iii

September 23, 1946 — September 22, 2011

Bill Price, born in Atlanta on September 23, 1946 to William Prescott Price, Jr. and Laura Hallum Price , has passed away this week. Bill never married, but Uncle Bill cherished his Nieces, Nephew, and younger Cousins. He was a good Son to his parents, a good Brother, and a Good Samaritan to his fellow man. Bill grew up on North Decatur Road, played in the park behind his home, and made friends with everyone he met. As a young man Bill bagged groceries, delivered newspapers, and sold tomatoes door-to-door from his mother's garden. He graduated from Druid Hills High School in 1964, DeKalb Technical College in 1966, and worked as a Draftsman and a Computer Aided Design-Documentation Operator for Southern Engineering Company and Lockwood Greene Engineers. During his lifetime, William Prescott Price, III was a credit to his namesakes: William Pierce Price, the first Marshall of Dahlonega; William Pierce Price, Confederate Army Sergeant, United States Congressman, State Representative, and State Senator from Dahlonega , and Founder of North Georgia College; William Pierce Price, Jr., Groceryman and Purchasing Agent for the City of Atlanta; and William Prescott Price, Jr., Sales Manager for Prior Tire Company for 49 years. Bill's mother, Laura Lee Hallum Price of Cedartown was a Registered Nurse at Crawford Long Hospital's Nursery and Emory University Hospital's Cardiac Care Unit. Bill took extra good care of his mother after his father died in 1974 and helped his mother very much until she passed away in 1998. Bill is a life-long Episcopalian and he was a member of Saint Bartholomew's Episcopal Church and a former member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. Bill's church family was very important to him and gave him much comfort and guidance in how to live his life. He returned their love. William Prescott Price, III, Bill, is survived by his aunt, Mrs. James R. (Mary Lamar Hallum) Bradshaw of Cedartown , Maui, and El Paso; his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Hallum (Audrey Celeste Connally)Price ; his first Price cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Alan (Ann Bleidt) Price , and Mrs. Lynn Field (Sylvia Williams)Price; his first Bradshaw cousins, Jimmy, Jean(in heaven), Johnny, Laura, Mike , and Sara, and his cherished Nieces, Nephew, and many younger Cousins. He loved them all very much and showed them his love in his deeds throughout of his life. He truly Walked the Walk. William Prescott Price, III, Bill, will be greatly missed by his loved ones and many friends.
