William “Billy” Claborn Dickens, aged 65, passed away suddenly in the early hours of July 6, 2018. He was born to Claborn Oscar Dickens and Barbara Ann Martin on Sept. 21, 1952, in Atlanta, Georgia where he lived with his beloved grandparents, Bill and Listy Bradford. He married Rebecca Lynn Dickens on Sept. 20, 2002 and spent many years traveling the south and southwest with her. William was a generous man with a sharp mind, gentle spirit and kind heart. In his youth he enjoyed playing sports, reading sci-fi, dancing and playing trivia. He served in the Vietnam war and was an U.S Army Veteran. Later in life he loved spending time with his wife and stepdaughter, doing puzzles and going on cross-country adventures. William is survived by his wife Rebecca Dickens; stepdaughter Jessica Locklar; and four children: Duna, Robby, Clay and Tony. A memorial service will be held Sat., July 14, at 11 in the morning at A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home in Decatur, GA. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests you make a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriners Hospitals For Children.
