William Hampton

W. E. (Gene) Hampton entered his eternal home December 26, 2004, at the age of 81. He was a member of Clarkston UMC for 58 years. Gene was a World War II Navy veteran, serving on the USS REEVES DE 156-APD52 in both the Atlantic and Pacific. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America for over 30 years, and scoutmaster of Troup 158 for 10 years. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Elsie Hammond Hampton; daughter, Gail (Tommy) Lippitt; son, Bill (Michaela) Hampton; sisters, Frances (John) Hoffmann, Peggy (Paul) Sharian; granddaughters, Anne Lippitt, Katherine Hampton; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 29, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at A. S. Turner & Sons. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 30, at 11:00 am at Clarkston UMC. Burial will be at Melwood Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to Clarkston UMC. A. S. Turner & Sons
