William Holbrook

William Waldo Holbrook, 94, passed away on February 10, 2025, in Atlanta, Georgia.

William was born on November 29, 1930 in Grand Rapids, MI, to William Bentley Holbrook and Wanda Martin. He earned a degree in engineering from UCLA in 1958. He started his career as an aerospace engineer and worked for Wyle Laboratories for 39 years.

William served in the Navy during the Korean War and married Joyce Round in 1957. The couple has 2 children, William Michael Holbrook and Susan Ridarick. The family moved to Huntsville, AL in 1963, where William dedicated his career to the moon project. After retiring from Wyle, he worked at the Huntsville Chamber of Commerce for 9 years. He continued to serve his community, acting as the second chairman of the Huntsville Hospital Foundation and starting the Celebrity Golf Tournament. In 2019 William and Joyce moved to Atlanta to be with family.

William is survived by Joyce Holbrook - spouse, William "Bill" Holbrook - son, Susan Ridarick - daughter, Chandler Holbrook - granddaughter, Haviland Holbrook - granddaughter, Nicole Vaccaro - granddaughter, and Gigi Gilbert - great-granddaughter.

He is preceded in death by Wanda Holbrook - mother, William Bentley Holbrook - father, Barbara Barker - sister, and Jack Holbrook - brother.
