Mr. William James Cox, Jr., “Billy”, age 88, of Buford, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021. He worked for BellSouth for 30 years before he retired and then started his own business, Cox Business Communications.
Billy had a strong faith in the Lord and anytime he was at a loss for words of encouragement, he would often raise his hands and say "Glory"
A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Mr Cox was born on December 21, 1932, the son of late Dr. William James Cox and Mae Wyatt Cox. He was a member of Free Chapel Church of Gainesville. Preceded in death by brother, Samuel Wyatt Cox and beloved wife Joann Harris Cox.
Survivors include his children, Carol Freeman, (Bill), William James Cox, III, (Sharon), Lynne McCullough, (Bobby), and Terri Boykin.
He is blessed with eight grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
A memorial is planned at a later date at the gravesite.
