William Jesse Carter, 87 of Tucker passed away Thursday, November 3, 2011. Mr. Carter was born in Omaha, GA and was the son of the late William Jackson and Anne Cassandra Lee Carter and was also preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Phyllis Annette Ewing Carter. He was a partner in the Mount & Carter CPA firm. Mr. Carter proudly served his country in the Army Air Force during WWII and flew 27 combat missions as a Left Blister Gunner on a B-29, attached to the 1st Squadron, 9th Bomb Group. He is survived by his 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Doug & Lee Carter and Gary & Sherrell Carter, 5 Grandchildren Kim Magill (Stuart), Kelly Coker (Todd), Matt Carter (Mary Emily), Rachel Carter and Zachary Carter, 8 Great Grandchildren and one more due in December. Funeral services will be held at 2:30PM on Sunday, November 6, 2011 from the Chapel of A.S. Turner & Sons, internment will follow in the Arlington Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 till 2:30 at A.S. Turner & Sons. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Haley Hunter Research Fund, 118 Ridge View Drive, Ball Ground, GA 30107, A.S. Turner & Sons Decatur.
