William M. (Bill) Riley

September 10, 1920 — August 28, 2005

Mr. William (Bill) M. Riley of Atlanta died Sunday, August 28, 2005. He was born in Thomson, GA on September 10, 1920 to Dr. & Mrs. B. F. Riley, Jr. He served three years in the U.S. Navy in World War II as a Lt. Commander and also served in the naval reserves. Mr. Riley was a deacon and Sunday School director at Briarcliff Baptist Church. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia in 1942 and a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. Mr. Riley was active in the Northlake Golden K. Kiwanis and retired from the life insurance business. He is survived by his wife, Lynda S. Riley of Atlanta; son and daughter-in-law, Bill & Sheryl Riley, Jr. of Lilburn; one sister, Virginia Nelle Wylie of Thomson, GA; two grandsons, Vann Riley and his wife Christi and Shane Riley. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 30th at Briarcliff Baptist Church. Rev. Bill Bigger will officiate. The body will lie in state for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Briarcliff Baptist Church, 3039 Briarcliff Rd., N. E., Atlanta, GA 30329 The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
