William Stanley Davis

Fr. William Stanley Davis IV, age 71, passed away on May 10, 2013 at Gentiva Hospice at Emory - Midtown. He was born on August 19, 1941 in Atlanta, GA to Willam Stanley and Jessica (Cathcart) Davis and they preceded him in death. Fr. Stan proudly served his country in the Navy as an Aviation Maintenance Administrationman. He went to Murphy High School receiving the Star Student Award in 1959 as well as Honor for Scholastic Excellence. He received his BA in Psychology from Georgia State. Fr. Stan also graduated from Date Control Institute with outstanding achievement in Computer Technology. He was employed by Civil Service and also employed as a teacher for Control Data Institute. Later he worked for Bell South Mobility. Fr. Stan was ordained as an Anglican Catholic Priest on September 1, 1990 at St. Stephens Anglican Church in Athens, Georgia where he was serving as HONORARY CURATOR until the time of his death. He married Jerraldine Arrington on December 27, 1965 in Atlanta and she survives. Surviving besides his wife is a daughter Kathleen, her husband, Brad Nye, Houston, TX and grandchildren; Miles, Dorothy, Dylan and Lucy. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday May 17, 2:00 PM in St. Hilda of Whitby Anglican Catholic Church, 414 N. Highland Ave. Atlanta. Officiating is The Most Rev. Mark Haverland and Fr. Terrence W. Hall. Friends will be received from 6-8 PM on Thursday at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home, Decatur. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to St. Hilda of Whitby Anglican Catholic Church. A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
