Mr. William T. “Bill” Davis, 72, of Acworth died Tuesday, July 28, 2009. He was born in Tuscaloosa, AL on August 6, 1936 to Durwood Richards Davis and Mary Anna Thomas Davis. He graduated from Munford High School in Munford, AL and attended pharmacy school at Howard College, now Samford University. Because of his selling skills he became a million dollar agent for Mass Mutual Insurance. He came to Atlanta in 1966 and worked with his brother at Star Distribution Company. Mr. Davis owned Star Cleaners on Collier Road and later Star Valet, a service to hotels. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Marguerite G. Davis; his children from his first marriage to Shelby Feaster Davis, William Thomas Davis Jr. (Tommy) and Deidra Dea Davis Dekle; grandchildren, Christopher Sean Davis, Thomas Jeffery Davis, Mary Elizabeth Davis, Erica Carey Dekle, Emilie Katherine Dekle, Anna Michelle Dekle, Adam Thomas Dekle; and great grandchild, Bryant Parker Davis. A funeral service will be held in the chapel of A. S. Turner at 6 P.M. Saturday, Aug. 1st. Floral offerings will be appreciated but the family would prefer donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Woodstock, 11905 Highway 92, Woodstock, GA 30188 in lieu of flowers. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
