Willie Hugh Chafin, Jr.

Willie Hugh Chafin, Jr. of Decatur, GA, born August 8, 1947 in Atlanta, passed away Thursday, December 13, 2007 from an apparent heart attack. He was preceded in death by his father Willie Hugh Chafin, Sr., and his stepfather John T. Ashby. Mr. Chafin is survived by his daughter, Michele Chafin of Fayetteville, mother Margie Ashby of Decatur; brother, Doug Chafin and his wife Bonnie Keaton Chafin of Avondale Estates; one niece, one grand nephew; numerous aunts, uncles; and many, many friends. During his 60 years Hugh owned several businesses which included a body shop, commercial door company, and antique store. If you ever bought anything from Hugh he always had a money back guarantee. Hugh was an excellent mechanic, master carpenter and could do anything with his hands. If he ever needed a tool for a job he would go out and buy it instead of borrowing it. For the past 8 years, Hugh was a dedicated employee of Linc Facility Services at Delta Airlines, where he worked with excellence. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday December 17th at A. S. Turner & Sons, Decatur, GA. Interment Ozias Primitive Baptist Churchyard, McDonough, GA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Corinth Baptist Church, 398 Corinth Rd., Jonesboro, GA 30238. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at A. S. Turner & Sons.
