Willie Mae (Humphreys) Bowman went to be with the Lord on May 5, 2009. She was the daughter of William and Janie Mae (Furqueron) Humpreys. She was born in McCormick, SC on April 19, 1924. She served in the United States Navy during WWII. Afterwards she met her husband, the late William James Bowman. She worked for the Federal Government working various jobs for 33 years. Willie Mae and William ended up settling in Atlanta and had one daughter, Judy. While in Atlanta, she was a member of First United Methodist Church, later moving her membership to her childhood church of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Plum Branch, SC where funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 8, 2009. Willie Mae is preceded in death by her husband, William James Bowman; her brother, T.W. Humphreys, and her parents, William and Janie Mae (Furqueron) Humpreys. She is survived by her daughter, Judy (Bowman) Atwood and her husband Richard Atwood, her granddaughter Katie Atwood, her Grandson, David Atwood and his wife, Magan (Hess) Atwood, and her older sister, Annie (Humphreys) Glassford.
