Wilma "Brownie" Orphelia Yarbrough, 89, of Goshen, IN, formerly of Atlanta, GA died at 6:46 PM Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at her residence. She was born November 28, 1923 in Lexington, NC to Claude and Madge Dunning Brown. She married Robert Heath Yarbrough on February 7, 1946 and he died November 10, 1969. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings, Haver Lee Brown Adams, Pete Brown, Dexter B. Brown and John Charles "JC" Brown. Surviving are a daughter, Claudia (Bill) Landow of Goshen, IN; sons, Robert Yarbrough of Big Canoe, GA, John Allen (Beth) Yarbrough of Clermaont, GA and Thomas Lee Yarbrough of Atlanta, GA; brother, Claude Ellsworth (Ellen) Brown of Burlington, NC; eight grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Wilma was an army veteran of WWII and was discharged March 8, 1946. She retired from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention having worked in Atlanta as a lab technician in the influenza and HIV labs. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, the Women for Military Service for America Memorial, the United Methodist Children's Home in Decatur, GA or a charity of you choosing.
