Loo, Wing Wah
Wing Wah Loo, 95, of Avondale Estates, died Friday, May 5, 2017. His wife of 60 years, Wai Yee Loo, predeceased him on November 28, 2007. Mr. Loo is survived by his sons Tommy (Judy) and Jimmy (Beth); daughters Lily Chew and Betty Loo; grandchildren, Mack Chew, Jr. (Samantha), Ashley Ball (Jason), Jennifer Farrar (Bryan), Alan Loo (Jessica) and great granddaughter Josephine Chew; three sisters in China and one sister in Toronto, Canada. A WWII veteran, Mr. Loo proudly served in the U.S. Army’s 2122nd Quartermaster Truck Company 14th Service Group that supported the Flying Tigers unit. He served in the China-Burma-India Theater and received among other awards and medals, the World War II Victory Medal, the American Theater Service Ribbon and the Asiatic Pacific Theater Service Medal. After his tour of duty, he owned and operated Hai Ping Laundry and Dry Cleaners on Peachtree St. for over 35 years. Mr. Loo held the longest membership at the American Legion Post 156 with 60 years. Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Friday, May 12, 2017 in the chapel of A.S. Turner & Sons. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 12, 2017 from 10:00 am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The American Legion Bolton Post 156 P.O. Box 20071, Atlanta, GA 30325, The American Heart Association, The Alzheimer’s Association, The Arthritis Foundation or your favorite charity.
