Wynelle Ricks Thomas, 93, passed away Monday morning, June 15, 2015. A longtime resident of Atlanta, Wynelle was a loving wife, mother, and sister. She enjoyed spending time with her family, watching baseball, and singing hymns ... Mercy there was great, and grace was free; Pardon there was multiplied to me; There my burdened soul found liberty, At Calvary. Wynelle was preceded in death by her husband, Silas Edmond Thomas, just shy of their silver wedding anniversary. She is survived by her daughters, Kay Prince of Atlanta and Jill Perry (Stuart) of Atlanta. She has three grandchildren, Lisa Byrd (Kevin) of Tallahassee, Greg Prince, of Atlanta, and Andrew Perry of Atlanta, and two great-grandchildren, Michael and Ashley Byrd of Tallahassee. Funeral services will be held at A.S. Turner and Sons, Decatur, at 2:00pm on Friday, June 19, with the Reverend Ken Hall and Susan Rumble officiating. A graveside service will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00pm.
