Wynne S. Christensen

February 11, 1932 — November 21, 2008

Wynne S. Christensen, age 76, passed away Friday, November 21, 2008, at Wesley Woods.  She was born on February 11, 1932, in Missoula, Montana, daughter of the late Colonel Viggo and Marian B. Christensen.  The U. S. Forest Service transferred them from Montana to Atlanta, GA, in 1934.  After graduating from Druid Hills High School and a business school, she was employed for 3 years with the Georgia State Merit System.  In 1953, Wynne moved to Washington, DC, and worked for the FBI.  Then she was employed as a church secretary for St. Stephen’s Church in Richmond, VA.  Wynne then returned to Atlanta in 1959, to live with her parents.  For the next 15 years, she was employed with the Atlanta office of the FBI.  After her parents died in 1971 & 1972, she continued living in their home on Princeton Way until she moved to assisted living in 2006.  She enjoyed traveling with her late friend, Geraldine Crockett.  She also worked at the DeKalb History Center and enjoyed sorting donated books at Goodwill, AAUW, and the Decatur Library.  She is survived by her chosen kin—nieces, Beth Gunter Dycus and her husband Tony, Laura Gunter Schroeder and her husband Grant and all their children; their father, Jack Gunter; and a number of long-time friends.  In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the Foundation of FBI Alumni, Inc. (PO Box 448 Walkersville, MD  21793-0448), Vista Care Hospice (400 Franklin Road, Suite, 200, Marietta, GA 30067) or to a charity of your choice.  A graveside service will be held at a later date.
